    Mr Shafqat Bukhari Consultant Neurosurgeon

    Mr Bukhari completed his fellowship in Functional Neurosurgery from University of Toronto and then undertook a fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery from University of British Columbia Vancouver Canada.

    After working as a consultant Neurosurgeon he later moved to Manchester in 2012 and since then has been working as consultant Neurosurgeon at Salford Royal Hospital and as a consultant pediatric Neurosurgeon Royal Manchester children’s Hospital.

    His special interests are Spinal Surgery, General Neurosurgery, Chiari Malformation, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery and Artificial Disc Replacement.

  • Mr James Leggate
    Mr James Leggate Consultant Neurosurgeon

    Mr James Leggate is the Senior Neurosurgeon at the Greater Manchester Neurosciences Centre and the the Senior Neuro-Oncology Neurosurgeon in Manchester specialising in brain tumours.  He also has an extensive spinal and general neurosurgery practice.

    Mr Leggate was recently Chief of Surgery and Associate Medical Director for the Surgical Division at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.  He has served on the Counsel for the Society of British Neurological Surgeons and was the National Officer for the British Paediatric Neurosurgical Group.

  • Mr Ajit Sofat
    Mr Ajit Sofat Consultant Neurosurgeon

    Mr Sofat graduated from Manchester University in 1982.  After a short period at Harvard, he continued with his training in the North West and in London. During this time he researched into brain tumours.  He took up appointment as Consultant Neurosurgeon in Manchester in 1996 after a short fellowship in Memphis.

    Mr Sofat’s main research and clinical interests include brain tumours, degenerative conditions of the lumbar spine, minimally invasive neurosurgery, traumatic injuries of the CNS and day case spinal surgery.
